Supreme Court Rules WI Vouchers can Continue

CNS Senior Staff Writer(CNS) The U.S. Supreme Court ruled yesterday that the state of Wisconsin can continue providing financial help to poor families whose children attend religious schools. Although the decision applies to one state, the national debate over school vouchers is sure to heat up. The action taken upholds a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling that the tuition voucher program was constitutional because it has a secular purpose and will not have the primary effect of advancing religion.
